Our client is seeking a dedicated Custodian to join their team and ensure the campus community remains safe, clean, and orderly. This role is essential to student life, requiring flexibility and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Responsibilities of the Custodian
Perform general custodial work to maintain safe, clean, and sanitary conditions in buildings and adjacent grounds.
Manage universal and hazardous waste within buildings, ensuring compliance with environmental health and safety standards.
Collaborate effectively with a diverse team to foster a respectful and inclusive work environment.
Strip, screen, and refinish floors, extract carpets, and wash walls, ceilings, and glass.
Support campus-wide recycling programs and perform snow removal as needed.
Requirements of the Custodian
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended shifts, to meet the operational needs of the campus.
Experience in custodial services or a related field is preferred.
Strong commitment to creating a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming work environment.
Ability to perform routine repairs and troubleshoot cleaning equipment issues.
Excellent communication skills to coordinate with students, housing staff, and academic/administrative staff.
Ability to manage waste and inventory supplies effectively.
