The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing the supply of products or materials for the organization. This role includes selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining budgetary compliance.
Source products/services by conferring with vendors on price, availability, and delivery.
Process orders, reschedule deliveries, or cancel materials as needed, based on forecasts and requisitions.
Maintain accurate procurement records including items purchased, costs, delivery timelines, and inventory.
Manage supplier relationships to meet price, delivery, and quality expectations; escalate issues when necessary.
Resolve invoice discrepancies related to cost and quantity.
Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, cost savings, and supplier performance.
Expedite the delivery of goods to end users.
Analyze inventory and stock levels to ensure appropriate ordering based on demand and lead time.
Solicit quotations, evaluate bids, and negotiate contracts.
Monitor the movement of materials and plan procurement accordingly.
Interface with suppliers and customers to secure delivery and competitive pricing.
Make tactical buying decisions and execute high-dollar purchases aligned with corporate sourcing strategies.
Maintain procurement metrics and reports for internal stakeholders.
Negotiate and review bid requests and contracts within defined scope and budget.
Establish Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) agreements and Min/Max ordering processes.
Adhere to corporate and divisional procurement policies and guidelines.
Translate business requirements into procurement strategies with input from the Senior Procurement Manager.
Evaluate supplier quotes relative to market conditions to ensure optimal sourcing.
Collaborate with legal and business teams to negotiate commercial and legal contract terms.
Resolve price match discrepancies between purchase orders and invoices.
Track procurement and inventory performance using internal systems; provide regular updates to leadership.
Support supplier dispute resolutions and compliance monitoring.
2–5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
