Job Overview
This role is responsible for coordinating patient authorization processes for injection procedures in an orthopedic office. The position supports the seamless management of insurance and authorization workflows. The role supports the organization’s efforts to deliver efficient patient service. You will collaborate with medical staff, insurance providers, and patients. Great team, collaborative environment and an overall great team environment! 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end process for patient injection requests.
  • Verify patient insurance benefits and determine financial responsibility.
  • Collect applicable patient fees and copays in a timely manner.
  • Schedule injection appointments by coordinating provider and patient availability.
  • Work within workers’ compensation claims processes to secure authorizations.
  • Utilize multiple online portals to manage authorizations and verify information.

Qualifications
Required:

  • Prior experience in a medical administrative role.
  • Proficiency with Athena EMR or similar EMR system.
  • Experience with insurance verification and authorization processes.
  • Familiarity with workers’ compensation claims.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Preferred:

  • Experience in orthopedics or a related specialty.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Compensation
$25.00 per hour
