Do you experience dispatching in transportation (school bus, transit, delivery, trucking)?  If so, Masis Staffing may have the perfect opportunity for you!  We are currently looking for a Dispatcher/Route Coordinator to fill a full time position for 1st shift with a company in Hanahan, SC.

Position Summary
Coordinate daily school bus operations to ensure routes run safely and on time. This role dispatches drivers, assigns route coverage for absences, communicates with schools and internal leadership, and documents incidents/delays while supporting a positive customer experience for families and CCSD.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

•          Dispatch drivers for AM/PM routes and field trips; adjust coverage for callouts and late arrivals.

•          Build and maintain daily route coverage plans (primary + substitute drivers).

•          Communicate via radio/phone with drivers to resolve route issues (breakdowns, traffic, student issues, late stops).

•          Coordinate with schools/CCSD contacts on route changes, stop updates, and service issues.

•          Track/record route performance (late routes, missed stops, incidents) and maintain dispatch logs.

•          Maintain driver roster, attendance/call-out tracking, and substitute assignments.

•          Support routing updates (student adds/removes, stop changes, boundary updates) and keep route sheets current.

•          Assist with safety/incident response: document events, escalating urgent issues, and support follow-up.

•          Support compliance processes as needed (driver qualifications paperwork status, training reminders, etc.).

Job Qualifications:

•          Prior experience dispatching in transportation (school bus, transit, delivery, trucking) preferred.

•          Strong knowledge of the local service area and ability to make quick decisions under pressure.

•          Comfortable with scheduling, multi-tasking, and high call volume.

•          Solid computer skills (routing/dispatch software, spreadsheets, basic reporting).

•          Strong communication skills; able to handle parent/school escalations professionally.

•          Flexible schedule (early mornings/late afternoons; occasional evenings for field trips).

Compensation:

  • Salary: $24.00/hr

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
