Position Summary
The sit down Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating powered industrial trucks to move, locate, stack, and load materials throughout the facility. This role supports production and warehouse operations by ensuring materials are transported efficiently while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
· Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, racks, and production lines.
· Move finished goods and raw materials to designated storage or staging areas.
· Supply production lines with required materials and remove finished goods.
· Stack and store materials in appropriate storage areas following company procedures.
· Inspect forklifts before each shift and report any mechanical issues or safety concerns.
· Maintain accurate inventory movement through proper documentation and/or scanning and inventory system usage.
· Keep warehouse and production areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
· Assist with general warehouse and production duties as needed.
Safety Responsibilities
· Operate all equipment in accordance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
· Perform daily forklift inspections and complete required safety checklists.
· Immediately report accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
· Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
· Follow all facility traffic patterns, pedestrian safety rules, and load handling procedures.
· . Follow all established GMP’s ensuring food safety compliance at all times.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
· Previous forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred.
· Must have current OSHA compliant forklift certification to be provided upon hire.
· Strong attention to safety and detail.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
