Import / Export Coordinator

Global Pharmaceutical company has an immediate DIRECT HIRE opening for an experienced Import/Export Coordinator to join their team! Competitive salary, bonus and stellar benefits!

Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to process and coordinate tasks related to import and export of shipments to and from a various countries. The role will handle the transactions between company and the freight forward and import clearing house.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures compliant import and export activities including adhering to applicable U.S. and non-U.S. laws and regulations pertaining to international trade as well as ensuring compliance with company’s corporate policies.
  • Works with customer, freight forwarders and other stakeholders to resolve issues that prevent exports.
  • Resolves LC and other roadblocks by partnering with Sales and other departments to ensure OTIF %
  • Contacts the trucking companies to arrange pick-up cargos from the warehouse to the port or airport.
  • Prepares necessary export documentation such as bill of landing, packaging list, invoice and other required documents by the Customs, Airline companies and TSA
  • Prepares shipments including labeling, inspection and securing
  • Submits documents to the carrier and freight forwarder; maintain files and data.
  • Researches and resolves logistical issues for outbound orders and returns.
  • Interface with all functional groups including Planning, Customer Relations, Transportation.
  • Inbound receipt of CMO products to US 3PL
  • Manages CMO/export orders to meet requested date.
  • Communicates customer delays to Management.
  • Daily track and trace of CMO and ROW orders.

Education/Experience

  • IMDG and IATA certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Understanding international laws including labeling and  documentation, sanctioned screening software
  • Ability to conform with audit import entry filings; resolve discrepancies, request appropriate corrections, reconcile or protest as appropriate
  • Export process knowledge
  • Freight forwarder experience
  • Ocean carrier knowledge Export Reg knowledge
  • Knowledge of LCs and other country specific issues
  • Knowledge of transit time, domestic and foreign transportation laws, DOT, IATA,
  • Customs, and intermodal requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret government regulations, interact with other departments and communicate at a higher level is critical
  • Knowledge of DG Goods Shipment, DOT, IATA, intermodal shipping regulations, document retention
  • Knowledge of customer and country requirements pertaining to labeling, Local and International inspection and documentation
  • Knowledge of shipping and returns processes
  • Ability to collaborate and problem solve
  • State licensing general understanding
  • Knowledge of domestic transportation and warehousing / inventory, experience with Supply Chain related inventory management systems and planning functions
  • Knowledge of Business Objects module and interaction with 3PL, strong communication and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of operations and freight spend, repacking and relabeling
