Join our Legal Team!!

Fantastic opportunity!  This is a newly added position to the legal team.  You will provide comprehensive support to counsel across a wide range of employment law matters, including but not limited to immigration, recruitment and hiring, compensation and benefits, wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence, workplace accommodations, discrimination and harassment matters, performance management and discipline, terminations, workplace safety, and government audits.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Tracking employment-based immigration petitions and applications with government agencies (e.g., USCIS), monitoring case progress, and coordinating timely submission of required documentation
  • Assisting with corporate records and maintenance
  • Providing litigation support, including service of process, legal file management, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, document collection, and in-house document review
  • Leading the drafting of objections and responses to subpoenas and employment record requests
  • Preparing document preservation notices and managing the Employment Law document preservation system
  • Supporting counsel on short- and long-term internal projects, including reviewing, drafting, updating, and maintaining policies, procedures, handbooks, contract playbooks, and agreements
  • Conducting basic legal research on various employment-related topics
  • Supporting outside counsel engagement, including invoice review, budget assistance, and legal operations initiatives
  • Performing other duties and special projects as assigned

Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment-based immigration law and procedures
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced administrative and legal drafting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and discretion
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with internal clients
  • Proven experience working with outside counsel and engaging with all levels of the organization
  • High proficiency with standard office tools and systems, including Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Word, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting electronic discovery efforts in litigation or internal investigations
  • Experience with project management and/or change management initiatives preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience as a paralegal or in an equivalent role, preferably within an in-house legal department with a concentration on immigration business law and employment law and litigation.
  • Experience supporting litigation, investigations, and compliance matters, and steps taken to administer holds, the systems used to track them, and an overall understanding of why legal holds are important

SALARY:
$38-$50/hour Temp to Hire
