Maintenance Custodian
Centerbrook, CT

Masis Staffing is looking for a Maintenance Custodian for our manufacturing client in Centerbrook, CT

The Maintenance Custodian is responsible for performing routine maintenance and custodial duties to ensure the smooth operation, safety, and cleanliness of the manufacturing facility. This role includes minor equipment repairs, general upkeep, cleaning of production and office areas, and assisting with facility improvement projects as needed.

This schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Custodial Duties: 90%
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, and common areas daily.
  • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors throughout the facility, including offices and production 
  areas.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins; maintain waste disposal areas.
  • Clean windows, doors, and glass surfaces as needed.
  • Ensure janitorial supplies are stocked and notify management when reordering is required.

• Maintenance Duties: 10%
• • Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machinery, tools, and equipment.
  • Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  • Maintain basic HVAC and lighting systems.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and equipment issues.
  • Assist with installation of equipment or facility upgrades.
  • Maintain proper documentation of maintenance logs and inspections.
  • Landscape/Property maintenance
  • Exterior building maintenance
  • Pallet/Crate storage
  • Office/furniture moves & installation

Requirements / Qualifications

•  High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience in general maintenance and/or custodial work.
  • Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Willingness to work independently and take initiative.
  Preferred:
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to become certified.

Compensation for the Maintenance Custodian:
DOE: $18 to $20 an hour
