Job Title: Welder / Fabricator

El Mirage, AZ
$23.30/hr.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Operate overhead crane systems to move and position steel beams, plates, and assemblies.

  • Properly rig steel for lifting using chains, grabs, and related equipment.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine correct weld type, placement, and material thickness.

  • Operate welding equipment to perform all required welding tasks, including:

    • Connecting welding cables to power sources

    • Striking and maintaining an arc

    • Guiding electrodes to weld plates to beams

  • Use needle guns to clean welds and remove slag.

  • Load and replace weld wire spools as required.

  • Perform welding tasks safely and in accordance with company and industry standards.

Physical Requirements

Candidates must possess sufficient strength, mobility, dexterity, vision, hearing, and stamina to safely perform job duties, including:

  • Handling and securing steel components using grabs and chains (typically 10–50 lbs).

  • Assisting with positioning and securing beams for lifting with overhead cranes.

  • Continuous use of welding and cutting equipment throughout the work shift.

  • Operating needle guns and other hand tools for weld cleaning.

  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator.

Qualifications

  • Must successfully pass required company welding tests.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Welding certification strongly preferred.

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong attention to safety, quality, and detail.
